Happy birthday husband!
... SO I'm putting on my best Betty Crocker and making a prime rib!
I've never attempted this before, but I'm hoping things go well.
Here's where we're at so far:
4 people for dinner
1 3.5lb, two bone, cut off and retied standing rib roast from The Meathouse
Bringing the meat to 'room temperature' prior to cooking was my first hurdle.
As Mrs. Cleaver as I am today, I've still gotta make the money, so I can't spend my day leisurly lounging and take the meat out around 2....
SO I improvised
Meat in cast iron roasting pan, garlic powder and Montreal Steak seasoning atop
big kitchen sink plugged and filled with all the ice in the freezer and cold water
lidded the meat and put it in the sink (no water touching the meat just the pan)
HOPEFULLY this will lead to a slow temp rising and the meat will be just about room temp when I get home today.
